Our application deadline, March 5th, is quickly approaching. Complete event information can be found on the Got Craft website and online applications can be found here.

Vancouver’s largest indie craft fair is kicking off the 4th annual Spring show with over 50 local and handmade vendors. There will be giveaways, live demonstrations by Yudu and a DIY table hosted by Spool of Thread to make your own crafts.

Blim February Community Market!



Kick off 2010 with the first craft fair of the season this Sunday!

Blim Monthly Community Market
Sunday, February 21st, 2010
11:00am to 5:00pm
Heritage Hall - 3102 Main Street

By donation

Blim will be presenting a monthly Main Street Community Market this month to take place for the first time, in Heritage Hall on Main and 15th. 2 blocks north of Blim.

This Months market will include 48 vendors, music, hot food, beverages, and entertainment. Vendors will include food, fashion, accessories, supplies, fine art, vintage items and records, and not be limited to crafts, and there will be a focus on nurturing and promoting creative production in our community. We want to appeal to young, old, hip, plain, babies, animals, men, women, everyone.

We are very excited about this event and what it can contribute to Main Street’s artistic vitality, and how it can help support and encourage the local creative community.

the first bite is the sweetest!





Last Sunday was the first bite sized Got Craft monthly show over at Little Mountain Gallery on East 26th and Main Street. A big thank you to everybody that came out! Since the weather was so beautiful that day, all 15 vendors decided to line the street and enjoy some sunshine. However, I think I enjoyed a bit too much sunshine as I am still nursing a sun burn on my left shoulder... yowza!




Of course, a craft fair is never complete without walking home with some goodies. Thanks to Love Bobbie for a beautiful hair band that I am modeling above and a wonderful bar of grapefruit soap from Olive.

day three pt.1

Snow! We woke up to lots of snow on Sunday! So much snow that people couldn't drive up small hills and the radio announced that you needed chains before entering downtown.

Taking a peek inside during the final stages of set up. Due to the snow, a handful of vendors were late and some booths were even completely empty.

We arrived an hour before opening and shortly after this was the line up to get in despite the storm outside.

day two



Day two was all about Portland. We started the day with breakfast at Grand Central Bakery and then traveled around town thrifting and picking up items for M's kidlets. It was an action packed day as we had to check in to the Convention Center at 5pm to assist with vendor check in and set up.



Could you imagine if the holiday Got Craft had this much space!? The Oregon Convention Center is quite unique in the fact that it costs $6 to park there all day plus free transit that stops right in front.

Got Craft is heading South



Got Craft is heading south the next few days with stops in Seattle and Portland. We are off to schmooze and learn new things at Crafty Wonderland while spreading the word!

looking for a new home



We are looking for a venue in the Main Street / Commercial Drive area that will be able to hold monthly Got Craft events. The ideal space will have enough room for 10 to 15 vendors and be a part of a restaurant / business that had extra room or didn't open a part of their venue during the day. We want the monthly Got Craft events to become a part of Vancouver's weekend ritual.

The monthly events will happen between June to November with the Spring Got Craft being the kick off and the Holiday Got Craft ending the year. Both the May and December Got Craft events will remain at the Royal Canadian Legion on Commercial Drive.

THANK YOU!

Thank you to everybody that came out and supported Got Craft. We love you.

Got Craft was sheer insanity! Shoppers were lined up at 9:00am for a 11:00am start time. Good thing they were early though, by 11:00am there was a good line up from the second floor to the street and around the corner. By 11:15am, 100 people had already come through the doors. That wasn't even the end of it. There was a line up to the street for the first two hours of the show. It was crazy. We had to close the doors, because there was so many people inside!

Our final attendee count came in at a whopping 1175 at 5:30pm (6pm closing). We had a very very busy few weeks distributing cards / posters, attending 12 different craft shows and just spreading the word and it looks like it paid off.

Thanks to Kimli and Miranda from Blue Olive Photography for coming out and taking pictures of the event.

On a side note, both Kimli and Blue Olive are up for the best of 604 awards. Please go vote for them here.

We are off to Crafty Wonderland this week to help them with their Holiday Extravaganza. Stay tuned for some exciting Got Craft news for the new year!

New Venue! New Date!

Welcome to got craft.... because MALL is a four letter word!

Save the Date!
The next got craft will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2008 at the Legion located at 2205 Commercial Drive (and E. 6th Avenue).

A private invite only breakfast reception for media and retailers will be held between 9:00am to 11:00am. got craft will be open to the general public from 11:00am to 5:00pm.
