The Vessi 500 Championship, our newest market in partnership with the Dragon Boat BC, is a regatta focused on our local community and is Canada’s 5th largest Dragon Boat race. With over 3,000 paddlers and an estimated 10,000 spectators, this event is the perfect warm up to the Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival later in the month. Taking place on Saturday, June 1st from 9-5:30pm rain or shine next to Science World in False Creek and will feature 20 local makers and small shops!
A free community event open to people of all ages, enjoy a day out watching dragon boat races, food trucks, VESSI pop-up store, and of course, the Got Craft Market. For more information, please visit the Dragon Boat BC website here.
Location: Olympic Village and False Creek, Vancouver
Parking: Parking lots are available off of Pacific Boulevard, Main Street, or in Chinatown at the Chinatown parkade.
Transit: Located across the street from Main Street – Science World Skytrain Station, 5 minutes from Stadium – Chinatown Skytrain Station, and 10 minutes from Olympic Village. If you’re taking the bus, hop on the #3 Main, #8 Fraser / Downtown, or the #19 Metrotown / Stanley Park. Visit www.translink.ca to plan your trip.
Biking: Bike lockups are available outside Science World and Creekside Community Centre. Due to the high number of visitors, we strongly encourage you to lock your bike before going into the Festival. Please do not ride your bike through the event site.
