The VESSI 500 Championship is Canada’s second-largest regatta, with over 3,000 paddlers and an estimated 10,000 spectators. Taking place rain or shine at Milton K. Wong – Olympic Village Square in False Creek, the event includes a marketplace of 18 makers and small shops, coordinated by Got Craft Markets on behalf of Dragon Boat BC.
This free, all-ages event also offers a full day of dragon boat racing, food trucks, lion dancing, live performances, family activities, and a VESSI pop-up store. Visit dragonboatbc.ca for more information.
Location: Milton Wong Plaza North – Olympic Village Square (north side next to Tap and Barrel)
Parking: Parking lots are available off of Pacific Boulevard, Main Street, or in Chinatown at the Chinatown parkade.
Transit: Located across the street from Main Street – Science World Skytrain Station, 5 minutes from Stadium – Chinatown Skytrain Station, and 10 minutes from Olympic Village. If you’re taking the bus, hop on the #3 Main, #8 Fraser / Downtown, or the #19 Metrotown / Stanley Park.
Biking: Bike lockups are available outside Science World and Creekside Community Centre.
