Mika Abele Studio

Mika Abele is a ceramic and comic artist who creates work inspired by animals, plants and landscapes of the west coast.

Her functional ceramic works are covered with whimsical comics and illustrations, inspired by everyday magic and the natural world. Handmade in her studio in Vancouver, she uses carving, painting and glazing techniques to imbue colourful narrative worlds into each piece she creates.

In her work, you’ll find forest critters, underwater creatures, and perhaps some nostalgia for being a kid, looking for shells on the beach.
