Victoria Yahara Studio
I’m a relief printmaker inspired by botanical symbolism and the timeless elegance of blue-and-white ceramics.
I grew up on Bowen Island and developed my creative skills through formal studies in art and design at Capilano University.
My relief prints blend my love for symmetry with the natural imperfections of hand-carving, giving each design its unique character.
My artistic process begins with a pencil sketch, which I then transfer to a block. I carefully carve the design before rolling archival oil-based ink onto it. I work in small batches, using a hand-operated press to transfer the carving onto fine art paper. This process ensures that each print is original and unique, with subtle variations.
